Once again, the Alberta Youth Entrepreneurship Camp is upon us! It's not only about numbers and business plans though. These youth get to participate in a variety of summer camp experiences and recreational activities such as zip line, horseback riding, wall climbing, mountain biking and swimming, etc.Our shareholder communities are Trochu, Kneehill County, Bassano, Chestermere, Three Hills, Acme, Linden, Carbon, Langdon, Beiseker, Irricana, Hussar, Rockyford, Wheatland County and Strathmore. Youth living in these communites are eligible to enter although the camp is open to all of southern Alberta. For more information, photos and videos, please visit www.ayec.ca or phone Community Futures Wild Rose at 403-934-8888 to obtain and application.Don't delay as the deadline is June, 1st....and good luck!!
Thursday May 17, 2012 ~ Friday August 24, 2012
Every Thurday from 4-7pm
Starting May 17th at The Bruce Guard Centre, Trochu Lions Campground
Saturday May 26, 2012
Trochu will now join the ranks of those communities who have a set day to collectively hold garage sales throughout the community. Customarily the Museum and Historical Society have held their plant and garage sale on the Saturday following the May long weekend so in keeping with this tradition, this will become the date of the collective Garage Sale Day in Trochu. Many people have commented that they feel there is added success in combining single events on one day and another benefit we have seen, is an opportunity to meet with neighbours in a friendly local environment, possibly closing the day with a block barbeque or potluck supper with your neighbours if you choose.
