It was about a lot of folks in a terrific little community and in several communities who got behind a cause “ the fight to end cancer” and our win will only be a very small part in the fight but we proved that Trochu will always do their part and have a terrific time doing it. In August 2010 Trochu was honored to compete in the Wild Pink Yonder fight againist breast cancer. Trochu blew the Wild Pink Yonder group away with funds raised (over $27, 000), our "pinkness" and exuberant community spirit.

HERE'S HOW WE DID IT!
Thanks to everyone who participated , to Martha who dyed her underwear pink and wasn’t afraid to tell us, to Ken who made his prized train pink and challenged his sister Leona and friend Holly Frere to cut their hair, to Tom Frere our number one pink vandal, to the little girls with their baby sister who really had no idea why they were selling pink lemonade and bracelets and made a donation and to the special little girls dressed in pink selling lemonade and cookies on Main St. , to Global TV, to Kevin Sorenson our MP ( thanks you make a great auctioneer and can be an honorary member of our community anytime) to Brenda who donated the quilt and shaved her head as well, to Connie who painted our faces pink to make us smile, to Rob from the RCMP who led the charge (parade) , to Holly and Tom Frere for the Ranch and facilities, to the ladies who made flowers at the Drop In, to those who donated items for auction , to Sunterra for the meat, to Cheryl for the tags and ribbons and laminating , to those who participated in the parade, to the businesses and citizens who left nothing unpink, and to the very special Town staff, Susan and the girls for the meal, Town Office and Arboretum staff that delivered flowers to residents and fielded numerous calls and helped organize the day, Carl and Public Works for everything from parade marshalling to painting pink horseshoes to fluffing flowers and for wearing pink T-shirts with no complaint and to Mayor Barry and the Council who were there every step of the way and I cannot close without commenting on Barry’s attire – It was Loud, Great and Fun. Trochu we are TEE-RIFIC and Pink to Boot. There are hundreds of unsung heroes who made the event very special and please forgive me if I didn’t mention you. Thanks Trochu.
